The compact BDS 2 is an all-in-one home entertainment solution, a full-line media player that includes a 2.1-channel Blu-ray Disc receiver with HDMI 1.3a with 30/36-bit Deep Color output and a front panel USB port for quick connections to your favorite music, video and photo files.
Create a Dolby® virtual surround-sound experience.
Because the BDS 2 has built-in Dolby Virtual Speaker technology, the 2.1-channel digital amplifier can create a virtual 5.1-channel surround-sound experience for multiple listeners using just two speakers. Not every room can accommodate five or more speakers plus a subwoofer, and not every homeowner wants to live with them. The BDS 2 doesn’t ask that of you.

Take control with a preprogrammed/learning remote
Simplicity and ease of use has been a hallmark of Harman Kardon products for nearly 60 years, and despite its tremendous versatility, the BDS 2 is no exception. A single remote controls the BDS 2 as well as your TV, cable boxes and satellite tuners. Intuitive on-screen menus make system setup and operation simple, even for novices.
Digital amplifier technology
The BDS 2 keeps audio signals in the digital domain from source to output -- reducing conversion artifacts that can muddy the sound. Digital amplifiers are also smaller and run cooler than their analog counterparts. So not only do they provide an optimal entertainment experience, they save energy and space as well.
Extensive connectivity
Although the BDS 2 is designed to provide a complete home theater experience all by itself right out of the box, it includes three digital inputs and two line outputs that give you the option of connecting to a variety of other audio sources, either now or in the future. There’s even an Ethernet port so you can connect to the Internet via your local area network and enjoy BD-Live interactivity -- a next-generation technology that allows you to download games, ringtones, trailers and other bonus material directly to the BDS 2.

What Dolby Virtual Speaker technology does for 2.1 channel sound, Harman Headphone technology does for stereo headphones connected to the BDS 2. You’ll experience lifelike 5.1-channel surround sound with the intimacy that only headphones can deliver.

The BDS 2 automatically remembers your favorite tracks on USB drives or CD-R discs so you can replay them with a minimum of button-pushing.
