It also becomes a wireless network system that lets you use DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) plus NAS (Network-Attached Storage) devices via WiFi. The Network Music Commander gives you full control over your MusicCAST2 system. Compact and lightweight at 5.9" x 3.5" and 6.1 oz, you can carry it with you from room to room operating all of the Network Music Players, or just make the settings you want and leave it in its cradle (which is supplied at no extra cost). The full–color LCD screen has a touch pad that makes it easy to control operations and browse selections.
Simple GUI Control Makes the Commander Enjoyable to Use:
The Graphic User Interface is extremely easy to use, and a backlight ensures good visibility. You can browse all the music content on your PC and quickly check playlists and make selections from other network components including iPod and Bluetooth–enabled mobile phones and PDAs, as well as USB devices. A soft keyboard on the display lets you name each location where there is a Network Music Player. A Party Mode makes it easy to hear the same source in three different rooms, and the Sleep Timer lets you drift off to sleep with music.
Network Music Commander Controls Yamaha Network Receivers:
When MusicCAST2 is part of a home network having a Yamaha Network Receiver such as the RX-Z7, RX-V3900 or RX-V2065, the Commander functions as a sophisticated remote control unit. You can use the Commander to operate various functions of the receiver such as Zone 2 and 3 controls.

WiFi Protected Setup:
Wi-Fi Protected Setup is an optional certification program from the Wi-Fi Alliance that is designed to ease the task of setting up and configuring security on wireless local area networks. Introduced by the Wi-Fi Alliance in early 2007, the program provides an industry-wide set of network setup solutions for homes and small office (SOHO) environments. Wi-Fi Protected Setup enables typical users who possess little understanding of traditional Wi-Fi configuration and security settings to automatically configure new wireless networks, add new devices and enable security. More than 200 products have been Wi-Fi CERTIFIED for Wi-Fi Protected Setup since the program was launched in January 2007.
